Robert Chan’s intriguing story starts as far back as 1855, beginning with his successful great grandfather, Chan Kho. Following on from his great grandfather, Robert Chan tells the story of how his ancestors prospered and grew in Kuching, Malaysia.

Following a 41 year career as an engineer for the Shell Company in Brunei, Robert Chan migrated to Australia in 1986. Shortly after his arrival, he became a devout member of the Box Hill Baptist Church. At 83 years old, Robert Chan enjoys an active life, by swimming an impressive 1km a day, 6 days a week, which has won him many swimming awards.

Robert Chan tells of his fortunate life, blessed with a growing family, and proud of many achievements.

In the Swim
is a captivating read, with fascinating stories of the Chan family of yesteryear and of today.
