Robert Chan’s intriguing story starts as far back as 1855,
beginning with his successful great grandfather, Chan Kho.
Following on from his great grandfather, Robert Chan tells
the story of how his ancestors prospered and grew in
Kuching, Malaysia.
Following a 41 year career as an engineer for the Shell
Company in Brunei, Robert Chan migrated to Australia in
1986. Shortly after his arrival, he became a devout member
of the Box Hill Baptist Church. At 83 years old, Robert
Chan enjoys an active life, by swimming an impressive 1km
a day, 6 days a week, which has won him many swimming
awards.
Robert Chan tells of his fortunate life, blessed with
a growing family, and proud of many achievements.
In the Swim is a captivating read, with fascinating stories
of the Chan family of yesteryear and of today.
